Golf Dome 2024- 2025 Season

Job Summary:
The Golf Dome Cashier is a part-time seasonal position.  Individuals in this position support the Golf Dome by assuring the facility is in exceptional condition at all times and by assuring that all financial transactions are processed in an efficient, friendly and accurate manner.  The Cashier will also answer phone calls from the general public and will answer questions relating to Golf Dome operations including fees, hours of operation, pro shop services, instructional programs, pro availability and other related questions.  

General Information:
Hiring for all shifts; weekday and weekend - morning, mid-day and evening. Shifts are generally between 3 - 8 hours, and may be customized to an individual’s schedule at the start of the season. Our staffed hours are as follows:  8 am - 8 pm - 7 days a week

The season is from November 13 to April 12. Individuals are expected to maintain the same or similar availability throughout the entire season.  There may be shift flexibility through substitutions and switches with other staff.

Ability to work both weekdays and weekends is preferred but not required, with the exception of 3-4 mandatory staff events or meetings which will be announced no less than three weeks in advance.

Basset Certification required within first 30 days of being hired.
 

Essential Job Functions:
1.    Assuring all tee stations are properly maintained and organized.  The Cashier is given the authority to direct the ball attendants to: keep tee stations free of debris, turn and vacuum mats, ensure that tees are in place and that clean golf balls are stocked in the baskets.
2.    Handle all cash, credit and check transactions on the register and computer quickly and efficiently.
3.    May be assigned opening and/or closing responsibilities of the Golf Dome.
4.    Accurately record all transactions as directed.  Close out cash register, balance drawer and secure receipts following established procedures.  Prepare petty cash and bank envelopes as assigned.  Close out computer entries following established procedures.
5.    Approach all contacts (personal and phone) in a positive manner.
6.    Clean and organize the front desk area as well as other areas throughout the dome
7.    Answer questions regarding lessons and Golf Dome services.  If unable to answer questions, take down name and phone number so that their call can be returned.
8.    Providing support for programs and events provided at the Golf Dome.
9.    Make recommendations and work to ensure that the Park District is in compliance with all ADA guidelines for registration, programs and facilities.
10.    Perform other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience and Abilities:
1.    Must be at least 21 years of age. 
2.    Active interest in the game of golf - understand appropriate golf etiquette at golf courses and driving ranges preferred.
3.    Cash and credit transaction handling experience preferred.
4.    Customer service experience required.
5.    Must possess a valid Illinois Driver’s License.

Hourly Rate:
$16.00+ Depending on experience
