The Head Swim Coach is responsible for the management and on-site supervision of assigned competitive aquatics programs. These duties include, but are not limited to, creating fun & competitive environment, maintaining communication with parents, supervision of program participants, and ensuring safety of all members of the team. This is a part-time position with an average work week of around 19 hours.

Essential Functions:

1.   Seeks to develop competitive swimming skills, knowledge, and values through practices, clinics, and other team activities.
2.   Supervises Assistant Coaches and other personnel scheduled to work assigned programs.
3.   Assists with training of Assistant Coaches.
4.   Maintains complete and accurate records of attendance, progress, performance and injuries to participants.
5.   Attends all practices, competitive meets, parents meetings, coaches meetings, and skill trainings, participating in skill and procedure reviews.
6.   Responsible for completing and administering performance reviews for coaching staff.
7.   Assures that assigned facilities are setup according to Aquatic Department standards for the activities scheduled during assigned programs.
8.   Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

•   Prior experience in coaching competitive aquatic programs.
•   Valid Illinois Class “D” Driver’s License.
•   Attain (within six (6) months of employment) and maintain valid Adult CPR/AED, First Aid Certification, TIPS certification.

Salary:

$19+ per hour depending on qualifications
